All alarm points are set from the central station.
The alarm point settings are automatically
sent from the central station (pictured to the right)
to the Data Collectors.

 |
The Data Collectors (to the left)
measure the temperature of the device they are attached to and forward the information
to the central
station (below).
Local indicators on the data collectors provide information about the safe or unsafe status of
the individual temperature. In the event of a power failure and a generator failure, the Data Collectors
will continue to operate for a minimum of 24 hours, continuously monitoring the temperature.
When the temperature is restored, each Data Collector will transmit to the central station the temperature history recorded during the power failure, maintaining the continuity of the temperature record.

Passwords are required to make any change in the system configuration or to acknowledge
alarms, providing full accountability in the record. Communication errors or system faults also
generate alarms and are noted in the printed record (to the left).
As a back-up, the computer maintains a data file identical to the printed record.
